Our Core Team organizes, leads, and supports our network of coaches, clients, and partners. This team also maintains the daily operations and administration for Sloan Group International.


Karlin Sloan

Chief Executive Officer

Karlin believes that business leaders have a responsibility not just to make their organizations better, but to contribute to the world in a positive way.

She is globally renowned thought leader on leadership development, the author of numerous articles and books, experienced key note speaker, academic lecturer and award-winning entrepreneur.

She works with clients across the world to help them develop powerful leadership in times of growth and change.

Karlin holds a BA from Mills College, an MA in clinical psychology from the Professional School of Psychology in San Francisco, and executive coach certification through the William James Institute Center for Executive Coaching.


Kathy Hamburger

Managing Director, Sloan Group International

Kathy believes that great leadership makes all the difference to the health, happiness and success of organizations.

Her wealth of executive experience spans the globe as a CEO and President of several multinational companies. She has driven major corporate change initiatives which enabled companies to be sold through acquisition strategies. Kathy’s extensive experience and knowledge of international business has elevated her as a proven leader in her field. Her abilities to develop future leaders and drive double digit growth has proven successful in many markets, especially India.

Kathy has served on numerous Boards throughout her career, nurtured long standing client relationships and been recognized for many women leadership awards.


David Ryan

Managing Partner, SGI Asia Pacific

David believes that leaders must understand themselves to be better able to lead and inspire others, while demonstrating a commitment to lifelong learning.

He has worked with clients ranging from SMEs to global enterprises, has co-authored the assessment for Business Acumen (the Business Acumen Gauge), is an experienced executive coach, presenter and academic lecturer and has extensive experience in founding and building businesses.

He works with clients globally to guide their own learning and development journey as business leaders, addressing many of the challenges of the modern organization.

David holds a B Bus (Personnel and Industrial Relations) and an MBA from RMIT University in Melbourne, a Diploma (Company Director) and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Coaching, McLean Hospital, Harvard.


Melanie Esplin

Finance Manager

Melanie believes that corporate responsibility can lead the way in making a positive difference in the world today.

Melanie has been SGI’s finance manager since 2009.

Selected as one of New Zealand’s 25 Young Achievers of 1999, Melanie has spent the past twenty years working in front and behind the scene in the world of the performance arts. Her love of the arts is paralleled by her love of numbers!

She holds a BA in Theatre and a Masters in Music from Roosevelt University in Chicago as well as an LTCL teaching degree in music from Trinity College, London.


Joseph Wycoff

Coach Liaison

Joseph believes that while we may not be able to change the world each day, we can improve our corner of it with determination, dialogue, and mutual respect.

Joseph serves as a bridge between coaches and clients, helping to facilitate good communication and workflow for SGI and those companies we service.

Joseph has a background of over 20 years in administration and office services.


Dion Garcia

Operations Manager

Dion believes that an effective leader can make a significant and positive difference in the lives of those that she or he works and collaborates with – in the moment and long into the future. Having the right set of tools and a sincere motivation to support their direct reports and others can make a big difference to relationships and organizational goals.

Over the past 20 years, Dion has been in Operations roles for a variety of professional services organizations. As a seasoned leader, he has led operations teams that have spanned the globe with consistently successful outcomes by balancing results, process and relationships.

Prior to his professional services career, he was an artist manager and a tour manager for musicians, conducting business in over 40 countries.

In his spare time, Dion is a managing partner of his family’s business and provides mentorship and guidance to a group of 15 employees.


Andrew Cohn

Senior Consultant

Andrew believes in leading from the inside out, leveraging purpose and values to empower conscious leaders, inspired teams and mission-based organizations.

He works globally as a counsellor, consultant and facilitator for businesses and individuals. Andrew’s work improves his clients’ business results and culture and enhances individual performance and satisfaction. He partners with clients to understand their needs and address them as quickly, clearly, and practically as possible.

Andrew earned his BA in International Relations (specialization in International Business and Economics) from Boston University, his JD from Loyola Law School, and his MA in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. He is also certified in many assessment and diagnostic tools.


Mark Darren Gregor

Mark believes that true transformative leadership must always start from within because a leader’s ability to be effective, enduring and empowered relies, first and foremost, on a deep inner mastery of self.

Mark’s diverse business experience includes having led teams in 23 countries worldwide, managed budgets that supported over $500 million in annual revenue, launched multiple award-winning product lines across multiple industries, driven consecutive record-breaking increases in divisional performance, and spearheaded the development of transformative training programs.

Mark is also a distinguished Masters graduate of New York University, ICF certified and Co-Active® trained coach, Landmark Education graduate, Mindfulness Practitioner and NGLCC certified diversity supplier.


Lou Chrostowski

Senior Consultant

Lou firmly believes in two things. The first is something he has lived by his entire life – to treat others as one would like to be treated. The second came as a result of his own personal experience on 9/11 which is to live life to the fullest – to have no regrets and to live as if there is no tomorrow.

Lou held various senior HR positions in sophisticated finance organizations such as Old Mutual and Putnam Investments. He has developed a holistic approach to executive development, considering the importance of culture, corporate values, succession planning and business strategy to executives’ success.

He holds a BA (Boston College), is certified as an Executive Coach by Columbia University at the International Coach Federation’s Professional Certified Coach (PCC) level and is a member of the International Coach Federation and the International Consortium for Coaching in Organizations.


Alyson Lyon

Senior Consultant

Alyson is dedicated to working with executive leaders and their teams to mindfully achieve a lasting change in behavior thereby increasing the quality of their relationships and impact as a leader in all areas of their life.

She has broad senior level business and coaching experience over her 20 year career and is an adjunct faculty member at Duquesne University in the McAnulty College teaching leadership development courses for Graduate and Undergraduate students.

Alyson has an MBA from Robert Morris University and is certified as a Collaborative Law Coach (IACP) dealing with conflict resolution and anger management, advanced training in Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument.


Sue Reynolds-Frost

Sue believes that regardless of industry, function or level within an organization, the common denominator between us is our human experience. And our humanity can be leveraged to achieve greater results within our organizations.

Sue has 25 years of experience in leadership and talent development within the corporate environment and as an external consultant. She has built her career on a mindset of growth, collaboration and determination.

Sue has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the areas of executive presence, influence and interpersonal communication skill building. She has developed and delivered a multitude of workshops that address these issues in industries such as: higher education, high tech, finance, advertising and law firms.

Sue recently co-authored a book entitled, Deliberate Mindset, which addresses and provides solutions for the underlying issues that can derail confidence in professionals when they are delivering high-stakes messages and presentations.


Andrew Tallents

Andrew believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to create the best version of themselves as leaders.

His extensive experience of working with Boards and senior leaders as they drive change throughout their organizations equips him with the knowledge and expertise to support and challenge leaders in equal measure as they discover the value of authentic leadership.

Andrew believes in self-leadership and demonstrates this through his close association with the Academy of Executive Coaches and stretching himself in challenging CEO and team coaching assignments around the world.


Anil Sharma

Anil believes that effective leaders are essential for organizations to thrive amidst disruptive change.

Anil’s experience includes leadership roles in multinational companies and start ups across a wide range of industries. He has worked in areas of customer service, total quality and Six Sigma, leadership development and general management where he has had an opportunity to pioneer significant transformational initiatives enabling companies to prepare for new growth opportunities.

He brings a broad perspective of the organizational system, global experience and a deep knowledge of the science of human performance and has helped leaders develop new approaches for breakthrough results.

Anil is an electrical engineer from IIT Kanpur and a graduate of the Columbia Coaching Certification program.
